Well, since the past 2 posts have been about me, I'm going to switch gears and share a little bit about what has been going on around the home...just life in general, i guess.
All of April, we have been doing workshops for the kids....as you know, I am the phonics teacher. I'm finding that it's definitely NOT something i'm passionate about! haha.....guess i'm just not made for English and all that jazz. Who would have thought? :-D
I've gotten the opportunity to go on 2 different trips with groups of kids. The first was the 10-13 year olds and we took an overnight trip to Mysore. There were about 13 kids. We went to an amusement park/water park and spent the night and went to the zoo the next day. Well, Idian amusement parks are pretty interesting. Especially the water parks....none of the kids know how to swim, so we spent a LOT of time trying to teach them to float.....didn't happen at all. They just aren't used to water. This last week, we took the 12 youngest kids to Wonderla! Also an amusement/water park, but was 10 times BETTER than the one we went to in Mysore! Most of the day was spent in the water park because it was sooo hot! And, one of the lifeguards, who was a female....well, lets just say she became a little obsessed with me. Not in a bad way, but always watching me play with the kids, making faces at me, wanting me to come and talk to her....she even told me she loves me!!! SHOCK! I didn't really know how to respond to that one. haha....at first it was funny, but then it just got weird. But, she was a very sweet young lady, and i've been praying for her since then.
The older kids go back to school in a little over a week. That's going to be a big change around the home. I've gotten used to being around and talking to them. I've spent a lot of afternoons playing volleyball with the boys....and, i'm the only girl that plays with them. Some of the other girls have tried, but they aren't competitive AT ALL, and the boys get sooo frustrated. I had one of the girls tell me last night that i'm so lucky to get to play with the boys, and that they actually invite me to play with them. I laughed. :-)
I was thinking just yesterday how it's been pretty much 2 months since I've been here. I've only got about 6 weeks left! It's crazy. I'm not sure if i'll be quite ready to come home, but God has everything in His timing. I know I won't leave too soon, or too late.
